I came up with a really fun and colorful activity for my toddler. It involves recognizing colors and grabbing small pompoms with tongs to improve fine motor skills.  The child is supposed to match the color of the pompom with the right egg cup.

Montessori Colors, Fine Motor

You need:

medium-sized pompoms of different colors, tongs, wooden egg cups, markers or paints with a brush

Directions:

Paint the inside of each egg cup with a marker (older children love this job.) If using paints, allow the cups to dry. Give the egg cups, the pompoms and the tongs to the child.
