Natural face masks are not my thing, as they usually invoke memories of my mother, with face slathered in mashed strawberries or oxidized mashed avocado. So, I am not the one to put salad cucumbers on my face and claim they subtract years off my face.

There are three natural face masks, however, that really perform miracles. These face masks erase fine wrinkles (really,) make your complexion glow ( really) and nourish your skin like a very expensive cream ( really.) The ingredients, used in these natural face masks are pretty simple, inexpensive and are normally found in most kitchens. As these face masks are made with natural ingredients, do not keep the leftovers, as these may oxidize.

3 Natural Face Masks That Really Work

  1. Cornstarch Miracle

Try this natural face mask before a big event, and you will have that “special glow.”

In a small pot, combine 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of water. Cook on a low flame, mixing constantly, until the mixture reaches the consistency of a thick glue. Take the mixture out of the pot and cool. Add 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 1 tablespoon of raw honey. Mix well, apply to your face and keep for about 20 minutes. Rinse with washcloth and lukewarm water.

2. Egg-cellent Wrinkle Eraser

Egg whites are supposed to tighten the skin, while egg yolks are supposed to nourish it. Take an egg, whip it lightly with a fork. Add 3 tablespoons of castor oil or olive oil or almond oil and whip a bit more. Apply on your face and keep for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse with wash cloth and lukewarm water.

3. The Flax-ible Warrior

Flax seeds are rich in Omega 3 and are very nourishing to the skin. The glow after this natural face mask is almost instantaneous and the fine lines are reduced quickly. Combine 1 tablespoon of flax seed with 3-4 tablespoons of water and allow to stand for 6-8 hours or overnight. The mixture should resemble thin glue in consistency. Apply one layer of this mixture to the skin. As it dries, apply another layer and then another. Do six layers overall. Keep the mask for about 20 minutes. Rinse with washcloth and lukewarm water.
