As a mother, you will want to remember that how you live your life will influence your children one way or another. . Even when you are not directly or indirectly influencing how they view the world and how they should act, you are influencing their health by the things that you may be doing.

Be Careful With What You Eat

If you are breastfeeding your children, nearly everything that you consume is passed through the breast milk to your child. If you want your babies to receive only the best nutrition, you will need to refrain from eating a lot of junk food  and processed foods. You should also refrain from consuming alcohol or using any drugs. If you are currently using drugs, consider rehab for women. By selecting a rehabilitation facility that focuses on women, you will be able to get the additional support for the emotional and physical problems that you go through, which men do not go through.

Stop Smoking

Even if you do not smoke inside the house or in the vehicle when the baby is present, that is not good enough. You need to completely stop smoking. There is something called third-hand smoke and this means that your children are still being subjected to the dangers of cigarettes, even though they are not directly breathing in the smoke. The smoke residue is on your hands, in your hair, and all over your clothing. So, unless you intend to shower and change your clothes each time you come inside from smoking, the health of your children will still be impacted in a negative way.

Find Time To Get Active

When you take better care of your body, you will be much healthier and happier. It will be so much easier for you to take care of your children and spend time playing around with them. Your children will subconsciously learn that staying active is a part of life. You are going to help them form healthy habits by simply living by example. If you are a little out of shape, you might be worried about how you are going to be able to jump right into an exercise routine. However, it is simple and all you really need to do to start getting in shape is to start walking. Make sure that you are taking your children out for walks with you so they can get the full impact of the healthy habits you are creating for them to follow.

Handle Your Emotional Health With Care

It is also important to make sure that you are taking the time to find the best way to deal with any emotional trauma or stress that you might be going through. By making use of counseling and coping skills that you can do at home, you will be less likely to have a break down or take out your frustrations on your family. Your children are watching and through your actions, they are going to learn how need to deal with the things that upset them.

Whenever you find yourself trying to figure out what to do or how to handle a situation, ask yourself what kind of advice you would offer your children if they were in your shoes. Then, make sure that you are taking that advise and using it for yourself. You will be taking care of your needs, as well as helping to influence your children in the most efficient manner possible.
