This time of the year, it’s nice not to forget about the hungry birds and the squirrels, making some edible ornaments for them. While making these ornaments, the children can learn about patterning. It is very pleasant to watch the birds come and eat off of your newly decorated tree, too.

For the Edible Ornaments Tub, you need: Cheerios, cubed fruit, like apples or bananas, green peas, pieces of bread, grapes, fresh cranberries or other berries, etc. You also need pipe cleaners and some wire. Tell the kids to thread the food pieces onto the pipe cleaners and onto the pieces of wire. When everything is ready, tie the two pieces of your pipe cleaner together, making it into a circle. do the same with your wire. Hang the ornaments outside.
