Last year, I made a natural glass spray, using vinegar and essential oil. It had no added chemicals and it smelled good, but my mirrors were streaky. I then tried the old method of using plain vinegar and then scrubbing the glass with newspaper. It worked, but you had to scrub hard and you had to always have newspaper around.
Finally, I figured out how to make a Sparkling Natural Glass Spray DIY. This incredibly inexpensive spray ( $0.50 for an entire bottle) rivals Windex: the glass shines and sparkles, the mirrors are a joy to look at and the windows are clear. Best of all, you don’t need to put in a lot of elbow grease. Just spray and wipe. I also enjoy how my house smells after using the spray: essential oil beats chemicals every time.
Sparkling Natural Glass Spray DIY
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
1 tbsp. cornstarch ( surprisingly, cornstarch makes glass shine, so do not omit!)
2 cups warm water
Optional: 10 drops of lemon, lavender or pine essential oil
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake gently and spray.
