I received a few bags of Java Raiz for a review. Java Raiz is a raisin-based, healthy snack that could easily substitute cookies, cakes and other processed, sugary snacks. Before you think that flavored raisins are a dumb idea you have to taste these raisins and they do taste incredible! I wouldn’t ordinarily snack on raisins, but I would totally snack on Mocha Cinnamon Java Raiz, because they taste like a cross between a cookie and a chocolate bar. The best part is that Java Raiz is made with  simple all organic ingredients, like spices, raisins, cocoa. There is no natural flavors or corn syrup added.

Raisins are high in antioxidants. They may  help to reduce damage to cells, they are high in potassium and magnesium. They contain B vitamins which are essential in the formation of blood cells. Raisins are high in amino acids and minerals such as selenium and phosphorous. They contain boron which is necessary for bone formation and in preventing osteoporosis. Raisins are also fat and cholesterol free, high in fiber, low in sodium and gluten free. With 100% organic Kona coffee for energy and a bit of cinnamon, raisins become only better.

From Java Raiz website: “ Java Raiz –a distinct, unique, tasty source of natural energy and nutritionEach delicious flavor of Java Raiz starts out as an organic plump red California Flame Raisins, one of the sweetest, healthiest varieties of raisin. What happens next is a natural infusion of organic cinnamon, organic natural cocoa, and 100% Kona coffee from Hawaii’s Big Island. Some varieties are paired with only one flavor, some with all three. ”

Java Raiz come in four flavors – Caffeine-Free CinnamonMocha CinnamonCoffee, andCoffee Mocha . The snacks are sold in 4oz bags and 2oz bags. The smaller bags are good for lunch boxes and on-the-go treats.

Pros: Yummy! Healthy, great alternative to processed high-sugar snacks.

Cons: The only flavor I would give to my kids is cinnamon, due to caffeine the other flavors contain.

The verdict: This is a wonderfully healthy and delicious adult snack.
