I am on “all natural and homemade” kick right now, so when hubby and the kids started coughing, I made them some homemade cough syrup. Actually, it was more of a drink, than a syrup. It takes 2 minutes to make and the spices in it make it very effective: all of your breathing passages open up immediately upon ingesting it.
The “syrup” is very spicy, so drink a shot of it really fast. My 4 year old drank it without complaints about its taste. His fairly bad, dry cough went away in 2 days! My husband did complain about the taste, but he also said that it worked very well as a cough remedy. To make the “syrup” more effective, you can add some Mullein drops. This link will take you to my Amazon store. Supporting this store is supporting my work on this blog. Thank you! Mullein is a known herbal cough remedy and this way you can take both cough remedies at once. Mullein tincture is black, so it will color your syrup, but won’t affect its taste.
