We play many games to learn letter sounds. I try to make letters alive and fun, because it helps small kids to learn how to read. One of the simplest letter sound games involves a bag of small toys.
Get a ziplock bag full of small toys and objects ( maximum ten.) I like flowers, rubber bugs, marbles, pompoms, etc. Then, write the names of the letters that the objects start with on a large sheet of paper. Ask your child to match the objects with the letters.
For example, write “b” for a bug and watch your child place a plastic bug on top of a “b.”
