Sunfood ChlorellaSunfood sent me a bag of chlorella tablets to review. I ‘ve been a customer of Sunfood for a while, because I love the high quality of their products. I usually buy cocoa nibs, cashews, cocoa powder and spirulina from Sunfood, but I have never tried their chlorella before. After tasting the chlorella pills they sent me, I will become a regular Sunfood chlorella customer as well!

Tomorrow I will post a nice Chlorella smoothie recipe for you, but in the meantime, you can familiarize yourself with this wonderful supplement.

Chlorella is a single-cell algae, rich in protein, magnesium, carotenoids, Vitamin B12 and chlorophyll ( protective and detoxifying compound. ) Chlorophyll can inhibit cancer in all human organs. A study of 333 patients showed that taking a carotenoid supplement reduced major cardiovascular events by half and carotenoid-rich chlorella is a wonderful supplement to prevent cholesterol oxidation, which frequently leads to heart disease.

According to the USDA, 80 percent of Americans fail to get enough magnesium. Chlorella is incredibly rich in this important mineral, which is necessary for PMS prevention, muscle growth and bone health.

Chlorella has also been effective in heavy metal detoxification, as it can remove metals, such as cadmium and uranium from the body. If you want to have your mercury fillings out, start taking chlorella before you sit in your dentists’ chair.

Chlorella has also demonstrated remarkable benefits to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

Chlorella is also an immune booster. It contains chlorellan – a compound that stimulates the body to make more interferon. Chlorella helps protector cells, called macrophages, function more effectively.

Chlorella has been shown to help the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut and to help ulcer healing. Chlorella also improves digestion.

What I loved About Sunfood Chlorella Tablets:

Value – usually a little jar of chlorella tablets is more expensive than a bag of Sunfood chlorella tablets.

Quality – There are many strains of chlorella on the market. The strain that Sunfood sells, Chlorella pyreneidosa,  is the only species that contains significant quantities of Chlorella Growth Factors, which nourish and replenish the body. They can also activate T-cells and B-cells, which help our bodies fight against viruses, cancers and bacteria. CGFs are not found anywhere in nature except in chlorella.

How Can You Use Chlorella:

1. Add a few crushed tablets to your favorite salad dressing or your green smoothie. Or substitute spirulina for chlorella in chia porridge.

2. Because chlorella is made of nearly 50 percent protein, you can use it as  supplement to curb appetite during weight loss.

3. Clorella can be used topically in wound healing.

4. It can be used as a nourishing and cleansing ingredient for a homemade facial. Add 1-2 crushed tablets to your favorite facial mask.

5. Use chlorella powder in creamy raw desserts. Jest add some mint and the green color will become acceptable by everyone.
