muffin tray with veggiesThe quickest way to feed your kids healthy foods is to give them the illusion of control within your boundaries. Muffin tray gets this task done.  My kids love their muffin tray meals. I usually take a 12-cup muffin tray and fill it up with things like: chopped carrots, cucumbers, blueberries, broccoli, pumpkin seeds and apple slices. I always put one of their favorite items in the tray (this time I added some pasta to make them happy. ) Mixing, matching and choosing what to eat makes kids feel in control, so they are more likely to eat healthy foods this way. My three little kids get to eat the contents of the tray together, so they learn cooperation and sharing, too. It’s mostly my oldest going: “You get three blueberries- 1, 2,3. Hey, no more blueberries for you!  Now, you. 1,2,3” – but don’t tell anyone. You can try this with ice cube trays, too, in which case each kid gets an individual tray. I like to take my trays with me to picnics and even indoor kids’ activities! I take the food in ziplock bags, a muffin tray and a bag of wipes and we are good to go!
