My babies had their first solid food today, at 7 months old. I made them two broccoli purees: one out of raw broccoli and one with steamed one. They loved the raw one! Starting with green vegetables, such as broccoli, makes babies’ delicate taste buds accustomed to healthier foods. It also gets them used to foods, which are not sweet, so sweet fruits, like bananas, are not a problem later. We are trying cauliflower next, followed by carrots. What did you give your kids for their first food meal?

I started with sweet potato and squash but that made my son’s eczema worse. So next time we tried some broccoli followed by turnips and carrots. Surprisingly my son kind of liked turnips despite their specific flavor! He still prefers fruits but eats his veggies just fine now (for the most part anyway):)

We did avocado first! and waited until 7mo and 3 wks… it was their Christmas Eve present! đŸ™‚ followed by sweet potato and brown rice cereal which we quickly gave up. your babies are so cute! sounds like they are off to a good start!
